
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born July 10, 1980 is an American actress, singer as well as entrepreneur and philanthropist. After singing in church choirs as a young girl, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997, aged seventeen. Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) was a huge success, selling two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial success of her single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson moved into country music following the release of her sixth album, Do You Know (2008). Simpson also introduced The Jessica Simpson Collection, an apparel-focused line that includes 34 product categories. The brand has generated over $1 billion in revenue and is the most successful licensed brand for celebrities in history. In 2010, she played on the reality television show The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion designs for Fashion Star's two seasons between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson, with whom she has three children.
